CPCC Opera Theatre presents Giulio Cesare

Giulio Cesare (Julius Caesar) is an Italian opera by George Frideric Handel about Caesar's victory over the Egyptians and his seduction by Cleopatra.  The work is considered by many to be Handel's finest Italian opera, possibly even the best in the history of opera seria. It is admired for its superb vocal writing, its dramatic impact, and its deft orchestral arrangements.

This historical epic will be performed in concert version with orchestra and sung in Italian with supertitles.  Joining the Opera Theatre as Guest Conductor will be another local tenor extraordinaire, Dr. Jeffrey Price of UNCC.

Written with some of the most beautiful melodies one will ever hear, this will be another opportunity that you will miss at your own peril.  Take Perry Tannenbaum’s advice, and be there!
